Junior Stylist

My hair journey has bloomed over 6 years.  At age 13 I become conscious that this was the path I wanted to take, this was my creative passage.  I began to see how much people valued expressing themselves through appearance, and I shared the passion to make them feel good about themselves.   Although I do prefer colour chemical services as it allows me to work purely with my inspiration, I am always eager to learn new things and expand my knowledge in hair.  In this industry, no hair is the same and neither are the clients.  I have learnt to keep up with the only constant in life, change.

In September of 2016 I went to London, England where I studied at London Hair Academy, I completed my NVQ Level 2 in both hairdressing and barbering. I have also completed a few shorter courses such as wet shaving, Brazilian blow dry, four system hair extensions and several more. When I wasn’t at school I worked in a hair salon filled with talented people where I gained knowledge of different techniques and incorporated them into my own.

I have worked with a few people in the industry at hair shows and photo shoots in Bermuda, New York and London. I’m very grateful for the people that I met along this journey and I can’t wait to expand even more with Salon Pink.

Senior Stylist, Director of Training & Owner

As an experienced hair stylist with over 12 years experience, Pinky has always known she wanted to be in the industry. Her journey officially began in 1999 when she left for college in the UK to gain her certification.

“Between my travels to Paris, Spain and London I was totally in love with the culture, amazing cities and the huge influence the hair industry had in Europe.” During her pursuit for her NVQ level 3 she learnt about the prospects of business and teaching and soon realized the very real possibility of her dream.

“I studied at Dudley College of Technology for 3 years and LOVED it! During the time I made a lasting impression with one of my lecturers who then suggested I take a job in Surrey at one of the leading salons run by his friend whom had amazing experience with Schwarzkopf and Wella. I participated in hair shows, attended the major hair shows (SALON INTERNATIONAL), had involvement in the Schwarzkopf Young Artistic team and attended countless training sessions to do with all aspects of hairdressing.

After working in the UK Pinky returned home with a personal agenda and landed a job to begin work on her clientele.  Three years in, Pinky was offered an opportunity at the Bermuda College to be head instructor for the Hairdressing Program and continues this rewarding experience to date.

Once she gained a successful, loyal clientele, and established her teaching at the College, she was hungry for growth and ready to open her own salon – Salon Pink.

Junior Stylist & Color Specialist

Currently attending the Bermuda College in pursuit of her Accounting Designation and having recently obtained her Hair Dressing Certificate through the City and Guilds Program, Chelsea is in pursuit of mixing business with pleasure. She has always enjoyed working with numbers and problem solving, but she also has a creative and artistic side she is eager to share.

I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the hair industry for as long as she can remember. I began my hairdressing career at Salon Pink as an Apprentice. After a year of shampooing and assisting many talented stylists, I decided that I wanted to be the one behind the chair; and I am pleased to mention that I am currently a Junior Stylist & Color Specialist Balayage, Ombre, Highlighting/Low lighting at Salon Pink with 3 yrs in the industry. I’ve held my hairdressing license now for three years. And in that time I have mastered a wide range of coloring techniques such as Balayage, Highlights, Ombré, & Grey coverage. I place a high value on listening to my clients, understanding their needs & making sure they leave completely happy with their new look.

“At Salon Pink, I work for an amazing entrepreneur who helps and guides me to put my passion into play. I can see how dreams can be obtained with hard work, persistence, dedication, and knowledge.

“I am always striving for unlimited creativity!”

Junior Stylist

Rinelle Elizabeth earned her NVQ Level 2 in Ladies Hairdressing in 2012 at Bermuda College.  In 2013 she completed Vidal Sassoon’s Cut and Color course in Toronto and has most recently returned from London where she trained with Toni & Guy in Cutting Fundamentals.

Although she has dreamed of becoming a hairstylist since the age of six, Rinelle took an alternate path to hairdressing with a first career as an accountant. This brings a fresh insight and a certain enthusiasm to her work as a hairstylist.

Her hunger for education and passion for excellence is overwhelmingly noticeable as soon as you meet her.”I am so excited to be here.  I couldn’t ask for a better environment to develop my knowledge base in!” I am particularly passionate about cutting, and clients love her energy and creativity in addition to hair trend forecasting.

“I take pride in giving you the look that you want & deserve”

Junior Stylist

My passion for hair came from always styling my family and friends hair when I was younger. This encouraged me to go to school and peruse a career in the hair industry. I attended Paul Mitchell, The School in Tampa, Florida and completed and graduated in June of 2013. Since completing college I’ve been enthusiastic about furthering my knowledge of the industry as well as learning new styling techniques. I joined Salon Pink in September 2014 as an Apprentice and have taken on the duties of managing the inventory and assisting the stylist team where necessary in the Salon.

When my apprenticeship at Salon Pink was concluding I decided not to stop there as obtaining my NVQ III was where I set my sights to further my education. With the guidance from Pinky I submitted an application to the London Hair Academy in the spring and come summer I arrived in the UK ready to study towards my NVQ III.

One of the greatest benefits of studying at the London Hair Academy was the intimate environment offered through having smaller classes – this allowed me to have a more hands on learning experience both with my instructor as well as all practical works (on actual persons not doll heads).

Continuing my education in the UK made privy to different cultures and experiences that I have found even though my time in the UK was brief have helped me to mature both personally as well as in the hair dressing industry.

I learned many new hair cutting and hair coloring techniques by being immersed in the culture which has excited me tremendously and when I completed my studies and graduated in September 2016 with my NVQ III, it was at that moment I realized that my dream has now become a reality.

“There is no such thing as “perfection” but I am certainly mastering my craft”

Senior Stylist

My love of hair and fascination with beauty started at a young age. I have been involved in the hair industry since the age of 14 and have never considered any other career path. I instantly fell in love with helping people feel beautiful and expressing their personality through hair and beauty. I received my NVQ level I&II certification at Bermuda College under the professional expertise of Kidist Emery. I then wanted to further my studies and went abroad and receive my NVQ level III certification at Kingston College in London England. After graduating from Kingston College I wanted to stay in London for a while to get the chance to absorb European hair culture. I started my career with a leading English hairdressing franchise, Rush Hair, where I was exposed to new techniques and trends that I hadn’t seen before. I had the opportunity to learn from the artistic team at Rush, who travel worldwide and compete in hair shows.  I earned my advanced certificate in cutting and color under this team at the Rush Hair Academy while concurrently working within the salon.I am extremely proud of my achievements thus far and made the decision that it was time for me to come home and bring all that I had learned back to Bermuda.  ”I am excited to launch my career at Salon Pink in the capacity of a Senior Stylist and assist my future clientele feel absolutely beautiful one haircut &/or color at a time”.
